Catching up on Reviews... Stuff I collected since Christmas!

So as anyone who has read my blog knows, I have been pretty unwell since Christmas, and all the things I had planned or this blog got side lined. Not just the weight loss programme but also my Make-Up Reviews. So today I am doing a little bit of catching up.

To come over the next few weeks are reviews, Huge E.l.f Haul Review, My Reach For Everyday Products, My Favourite Rings and much more.

The products I am going to review today are:

No. 7 Limited Edition Smoky Rose Quad
No. 7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Palette in 30 Cappuccino
Maybelline Eyestudio Natural Impact in 14 Nude Rose
Espirit Styling Colour Palette Eyeshadow in  202 Sunset Brown

No. 7 Extreme Length Sensitive Mascara in 01 Black
Elizabeth Arden Eye Pencil in Smoky Black and Espresso

L'Oreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation (My Colour - Vanilla Rose)
L'Oreal Paris True Match Minerals (My Colour - Golden Beige)
Maybelline Expertwear Blush in Pinch O'Pink

I have accumulated a lot of products since Christmas and these are some of the ones that I absolutely love.... and hate!

Eyes

No. 7 Limited Edition Smoky Rose Quad

I got this quad sometime after Christmas, and I think I have already mentioned it somewhere in my blog already. I actually got this item as a free gift when I bought one of No. 7's new mascaras. I love No.7 because whenever I shop in boots they are almost always giving out £5 off No.7 vouchers at the till. And then when go and use your voucher they give you another. It can go on and on lol.

So anyway, I had one of these vouchers, I needed a new mascara and if you bought this particular one you got this free quad, so for about £3 I got a good £15 worth of quality make-up. Bargain!

I like the quad as it has colours that I would use normally, and I can create a subtle day look with it, or a more smoky night look with it. The colours are purple based. The col, ours blend easily and the lightest shade which I would describe as a frosted white stand out brilliantly to highlight the inner corner and brow bone.
I would definitely buy this again. Saying that, as this item was limited edition I don't think it is available anymore (although try your luck on ebay, find nearly everything on there!) however, there are some similar colours in No.7's range so you could still get your hands on this look.

No. 7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Palette in 30 Cappuccino

Again I got this little trio after being handed one of Boots £5 off voucher at the till. So another little bargain here. I'm not going to go into massive detail. The colours are pretty normal for your natural day look. Good quality eye-shadow as always with No.7. I don't currently have this in my 'Reach for Everyday basket' as it is a little too subtle for me. I wear it if I just want a really subtle quick look. I don't know if I would buy these colours again to be honest as I now find the more pinky colours are better for a natural look. Without a voucher this product is £10.50 available online and at boots. Nothing wrong with it at all. Just the colours are a little to bland for my liking.

Maybelline Eyestudio Natural Impact in 14 Nude Rose

I Love This <3

A little story behind this is that I found it in an unexpected place! I have never ventured into a TJ Hughs but a couple of weeks ago I was just having a mooch around Glasgow City Centre and a ever Glasgow's unpredictable weather decided to change from a fairly sunny day to territorial rain! So I took cover in the nearest place that said Cafe outside and it happened to be TJ Hughs. Now like I say, I think I have only ever been once and didn't particularly take a look around, but as I was heading up to the Cafe area I noticed a Make-Up section with just stacks and stacks of everything  you could need. Now I'm not going to lie, you do have to rummage and alot of the stuff there is just junk! But I came across a few little jems at a significantly lower price than you would expect. I bought a couple of pieces just to try and finding nothing wrong with them I have since been back for another rummage!

So on my first 'rummage' I found this.

Now if you use Maybelline Make-Up a lot you will notice that the only thing wrong with this product is that it is in the old packaging. I can assure that the quality remains the same. You can still purchase this same line in highstreet stores such as Boots and Superdrug retailing at around £7.00. (TJ Hughs, £2.00). The thing that I love most about this product other than the beautiful colours, is you will notice each shade has a number pressed into it, 1 to 4. And on the back it has instructions of where to put each one. Its like Paint By Numbers for your eyes, which I just thought is great if you are, a bit nervous of trying new looks, or just new to experimenting with make-up. I have never noticed this before, but now I have actually started looking for this on other products. So I am going to buy some more of these, whether that be in TJ Hughs or wherever lol! They have great quality and its just such a good idea.

Espirit Styling Colour Palette Eyeshadow in  202 Sunset Brown

I do not have much to say about this, as I hate it. Well hate is a strong word, but I definately don't like it.
Again, this is from that rain enforced 'rummage' at TJ Hughs and this is another product with the little 'Paint By Numbers' thing going on. And if you have the patience to put up with the shadows spraying all over your face when you use it then you actually can create a good look with it. A very dark smoky eye, which actually my husband adored. But I was so angry with the this quad after attempting to use it, it went straight in 'Products I Never Use Tub'. When you are putting the shadows on they fall all over your face and its just annoying. I know its a cheap brand, but still, this, is BAD.

No. 7 Extreme Length Sensitive Mascara in 01 Black

Just a quick one to say if you have sensitive eyes like me go and buy this now. Has never aggravated my eyes, it is great quality. It isn't cloggy, it doesn't clump. I use it pretty much everyday. It is quite pricey at £12.50, but I have no problem paying it, as it lasts for ages and its just a brilliant product. Go.... go now!!!

Elizabeth Arden Eye Pencil in Smoky Black and Espresso

I have mentioned these before, but had to mention them again! I love these. I don't use them everyday, as they are quite expensive so I save them for special occasions, but I love them. They are so good for smoky eyes! The smoky black does need keeping under control a little bit as otherwise it tends to look a bit messy. But other than that they are great. I think they are about £15. The packaging of mine is different, as mine came in my Christmas Blockbuster, but they are gorgeous.

Face

L'Oreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation (My Colour - Vanilla Rose)

This product is great! If you're anything like me, you have this ongoing battle to find the right shade, the right type, and have ended up with a drawer full of useless products. As I previously blogged, I actually went to Elizabeth Arden and had a colour match done and now I have a beautiful foundation from them, but at £25 a bottle its not cheap, and I use foundation everyday, so I wanted a cheaper 'everyday' foundation. I took my Elizabeth Arden one shopping with me, and matched the colour to this. It retails at around £9.99, and I really love it. I apply it with a foundation brush and it gives great coverage without the thickness!

L'Oreal Paris True Match Minerals (My Colour - Golden Beige)

I love mineral make-up, and after I got the above foundation, I wanted to try the matching mineral. I have previous used quite alot of minerals, and my fave is Marks and Spencers Perfection. I don't wear minerals on its own, I just like a light dusting on top on my foundation to set it and give me a healthy glow. My M and S ran out, so I went to get this one. At around £15, I think they are quite expensive, as to be honest, I don't really this product. The powder is really thick, and so when you brush it on, it doesn't really spread evenly. I also find that it is very visible on the skin. I will use it up, but I won't get it again.

Maybelline Expertwear Blush in Pinch O'Pink

Another little find from my TJ Hughs 'rummage'! Brilliant product, great price especially as it came with a free full size brush. I love this blusher! Again the packaging has now changed and I got this for about half its current retail price of about £6.00. But I would buy this if it cost double that. Brilliant.

So there are some of the products that I wanted to tell you about, I have plenty more to come. If you have any thoughts or anything you would like me to check out, please drop me a line at hattiecc@live.co.uk or find me on twitter @hattieblog https://twitter.com/#!/hattieblog

Thanks Loveables xxx
